Every Synnudé complexion shade has a number and a letter. The number is your depth (100s are fairest, 500s are deepest). The letter is your undertone. Find both and you’ve found your shade.

Look at your skin in daylight, without makeup. Pick the row below that looks closest to your jawline, not your cheeks or forehead.

2. Find your undertone

Check the inside of your wrist and how gold and silver jewelry look on you. Use the four cards below.

3. Match and choose

Pick the shade where your depth and undertone meet. Between two? Go lighter for concealer and closest-match for foundation.

Which undertone are you?

C · CoolVeins look blue or purple. Silver flatters you. You burn easily and skin has pink or red hints.

N · NeutralVeins look blue-green. Gold and silver both work. Your skin looks balanced, neither pink nor golden.

W · WarmVeins look green. Gold flatters you. You tan easily and skin has golden, peachy or yellow hints.

O · OliveSkin has a green-grey or muted cast. Many shades look too pink or too orange on you.

Matching tips

Test on your jawline in natural light. The right shade disappears into both your face and neck.
Concealer: go one step lighter than your foundation to brighten, or the same shade to cover spots.
Seasonal skin: if you tan in summer, you may move up a step (for example, 220W to 230W).
Screens vary. The colors here are a guide, so use the undertone letter as your anchor.
